It took me a while to make up my mind as to which Mac mini I was going to buy — the entry level $599.00 model or the $799.00 model that has more Ram and a faster processor.
I didn’t want to throw two hundred dollars away so I did *a lot* of research!
The general consensus seems to be that if you’re only going to use your Mac mini for surfing the Web, downloading music and / or video for your iTunes collection, digital photo editing & organization, and text editing — then the entry level Mac mini should suit your needs just fine.
I concluded that I didn’t need 4 GB of RAM in my Mac mini has it’s going to be used for relatively light computing tasks (as listed above) and as a home media server.
(I have a maxed out iMac for video editing and to create my computer help DVDs.)
I just ordered the $599.00 Mac mini (minus the $19.02 discount that Amazon is currently offering on this model) and I’ll post my findings on this blog.
Stay tooned…
